LCTU Holds Impostor Syndrome Themed English Corner
Language Centre of Tsinghua University successfully held an English Corner themed Overcoming Impostor Syndrome, facilitated by John Paul Grima, on 12 March. The event drew 26 enthusiastic participants from 15 different schools and departments across the university, making for a diverse and engaging group.
Focusing on the learning objectives of understanding the origins, and identifying the symptoms and triggers of Impostor Syndrome, the session offered an overview of the syndrome and analyzed its negative impacts on personal growth. Highly interactive, it included group discussions that invited students to reflect on common challenges and build resilience. Practical strategies, including mindfulness practice, growth mindset cultivation and self-recalibration, were also shared in detail.
The event helped students reduce anxiety and self-doubt, and master scientific methods to adjust their mindset. It was warmly received by participants, who noted gaining a clearer understanding of self-recognition and expressed their intent to apply the learned tips in study and daily life to foster a more positive mental state.
This is the first of six English Corner events that LCTU will host this Spring Semester. For more information on the English Corner schedule, please visit https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/UCFBj0XyfOk4bcYigQQNjw
