English for Master’s Students is a 32-hour course (2 teaching hours per week) designed to meet the varying needs of master's students by offering either academic or general-purpose English instruction. Academic master's programs tend to focus more on academic English, while professional master's programs emphasize the practical use of English, with course content adapted to the specific requirements of different degree types.
The academic-oriented courses aim to improve students’ ability to understand, express, and communicate academic ideas in English. Key areas include conducting English literature reviews, writing academic papers in English, and participating in international academic discussions. Upon completing the course, students are expected to critically analyze English texts—both linguistically and conceptually—and write academic papers that are accurate, well-organized, concise, and fluent. They should also be able to discuss academic topics effectively and articulate their views clearly and confidently.
To better meet students’ language levels and academic needs, the course offers three specialized tracks:
(A) Research Article Reading and Writing
(B) International Academic Communication
(C) Comprehensive Academic English
Students are advised to carefully review the course selection instructions and choose the track that best matches their background and academic goals.
