Courses in the English Language and Culture cluster use English as the medium of instruction to deepen students’ understanding of foreign cultures and societies, enhance intercultural awareness and communication skills, and further develop their overall English proficiency.
This course cluster is a restricted elective within the undergraduate public foreign language curriculum. Course topics span a wide range of areas, including literature, film, public speaking, the arts, society, history, and intercultural communication. Most courses are 2 credits.
Students are encouraged to take courses from this cluster after their first year, and the credits earned will count toward the total public foreign language credit requirement.
